They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. ~ Benjamin Franklin Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it. ~ Learned Hand I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it. ~ Thomas Jefferson

Do you have to reserve ahead of time to see the Statue of Liberty?
Q. I am planning to visit NYC the first week in October. I have heard from different people that you have to reserve ahead of time to see the statue of liberty. I heard from other people you don't. I've also heard that it's free, or that you have to pay to see it. I also want to ride the ferry that will take you to both Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty, is that possible?

A. If you book ahead of time you will save a couple of bucks depending on which tour you would like to go on. Circle Line is one of the ferries that can take you to both Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island. There is a free ferry that passes Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island, its the staten island ferry. It only passes it, even though it doesnt dock at each one, its still a nice view from the SI Ferry so if you have atleast an hour i recommend doing that as well because the view from the SI ferry is pretty cool and you also get a pretty cool view of the city as well when you ride the ferry going to staten island and when you ride it back to manhatten.
